SBAC Complete!

Dear Families,

What a busy few weeks it has been!  We finally finished our SBAC testing today and celebrated by watching Harry Potter.  Students have worked so hard to stay focused and put forth their best effort. I am very proud of them!

On Friday, May 11th, we will be going to the Ethan Allen Homestead to participate in the Water Conservation Fair. Students will be bringing home field trip permission slips with more information this afternoon. Please review and email with any questions.

Please be on the lookout for cardboard and other recyclable materials around your home.  After vacation students will be building cardboard arcade games!  I will send out more information on our cardboard carnival after April break.  In addition to cardboard and recyclable materials, please also be on the lookout for shoe boxes. We will be using them to build dioramas for our Regions of the United States unit. You can send in all materials the week of April 30th.

I hope everyone has a safe and restful vacation.  Keep your fingers crossed for sunshine!

Happy Friday!

SBAC testing

Dear Families,

We have a busy few weeks ahead of us as will begin our SBAC testing this week. Students will complete the Math portion of the test on Tuesday and Thursday, April 10th and 12th.  Next week, students will complete the English Language Arts section on Tuesday and Thursday, April 17th and 19th.  Please make sure students are getting plenty of rest and eating well.  Fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy!

Here are a couple of reminders for testing weeks:

  • There will be NO homework this week or next week
  • Students may bring in their own mints and gum. I will also have mints and gum available in the classroom.
  • We will still have unified arts classes so students should still plan to bring their recorders for music.
  • If you would like to send in a class snack (goldfish, pretzels) please remember that it should be PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE
Please let me know if you have any questions.
